Hugo is a city in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 4,817 at the 2010 census. Hugo is the county seat of Choctaw County. The city is named for the French novelist Victor Hugo. Hugo is home to the Choctaw County Fair, the Choctaw County Rodeo, and the Choctaw County Festival. It is also home to the Rattan School District, the oldest school district in Oklahoma and the second-oldest school district in the United States. The city is served by the Hugo Municipal Airport.
