Korla is a city located in the Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. It is situated in the northern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains and is the second largest city in Xinjiang. The city is well known for its picturesque scenery and ancient ruins, including the ruins of the ancient city of Gaochang. Korla is also home to several important historical sites and has a rich cultural heritage.
